Iris is Asian American pianist Naomi Nakanishi and Italian percussionist Francesca Remigi. They are joined by an interdisciplinary group of musicians focused on experimental improvisation, sonic textures and original compositions.

 

The intimate history of Iris collaborations provides for a compelling performance while inviting the listener to question western, structural concepts of music and maintain curiosity with unconventional melodies and

harmony.

They have performed at notable venues in Los Angeles, CA and Las Vegas, NV such as Oracle Tavern and Maxan Jazz Club in addition to Young Ethel's in Brooklyn, NY.

Iris is currently focusing on recording their debut EP with compositions written during their time at the 2023 Avaloch Farm Residency, set for release in the Fall of 2024.
